Men of Menscience: U.S Marines 1st Lieutenant Richard Adams

For our "Men of Menscience" series, we would like to take a moment to highlight another notable man that is doing great things and is doing them with style. U.S. Marines 1st Lieutenant Richard Adams is one of the many young individuals that make up this country's heroic military. His sacrifice - and the myriad sacrifices of others - is an exceptional demonstration of determination, dedication and passion.

Adams is a 25 year-old Naval Aviator who is "livin' the dream." With a promising future in the military and a passion for flying, Adams has been interested in all things mechanical from a young age. He loves commanding a vehicle and grew up in an F-15 flight path which culminated in high-school flight lessons. "I was in the cockpit of a private plane before I could drive a car. It was very cool. When it came time to decide what I wanted to do for a career, it was a natural choice to want to fly for the military" he says.

After completing Officer Training in Quantico, VA during college, Adams went through extensive flight instruction and is now in the final stages of intense classroom and hands-on training specific to helicopters. He's prepping to earn his wings in 2010.

Once Adams earns his wings he’ll be flying solo. The purpose of a Marine aviator is to provide support for troops on the ground which is something Adams finds fulfilling. He says “It’s satisfying to contribute and make a difference on the battlefield.”

While on-duty, Adams' day often begins as early as 3:30 am in order to report to work by 4:30 or 5:00 am. With long days that include pre-flight briefings, the flight itself, and then a debriefing, maintaining a workout program can prove difficult. "I run a lot because it’s quick, easy, and effective" Adams says. While working out, Adams concentrates on endurance and strengthening exercises, he adds "Core muscle building and cardio are my focus. I run 3 miles every other day and add in weight training where I can." Being physically fit is not a vanity for the military. In fact, it becomes extremely important when dealing with the grueling conditions of battle.

Like most things, grooming and hygiene are taken very seriously in the military and they must be done efficiently. Personnel are expected to look their best. Marines are expected to shave daily, keep their hair short and maintain a hygiene routine. The strict rules dictating military personnel’s appearances are designed to command respect and uphold the integrity of the uniform.

At times, it's even necessary to shower more than once a day, Adams says "We touch and feel the aircraft…that means you get hydraulic fluid, oil, even jet fuel on your skin. Washing is constant." All those harsh chemicals and all that washing can leave skin dry and irritated making it important to find an effective skincare routine and quality products. A mini-facial using a clay face mask can be a quick and easy way to remove build-up and dirt after a long day of flying. Additionally, for individuals that are constantly assailed by the elements, the use of sunscreen can prevent skin problems.

Adams' pride in his chosen career is evident when he says "The core values of the Marines are summed up in our motto, Semper Fidelis. Literally, it means 'always faithful'. The values of honor, courage, and commitment are something that we live by and I’m proud of that. I'm happy that I get to do something I enjoy while contributing to the greater good of the country."

At Menscience, we're proud that individuals throughout the nation have dedicated themselves to the U.S. military and to the security of this nation and the pursuit of freedom. Their role is indispensable, their risks are great and, as such, we would like to express our utmost gratitude.

Dangers of Over-Exfoliation

Over the years, it seems that skin care has become more about "peeling away" the bad aspects of skin rather than improving and reinforcing skin's resiliency and health. From chemical peels to microdermabrasion techniques, the trend has resulted in over-exfoliation. Abrasive methods have long been hailed as the cure for wrinkles, acne and other skin unpleasantries, but, these abrasive methods actually strip your skin of natural defenses that protect from free radicals which damage skin. The sun and other environmental factors constantly affect your skin, and, in order to be well protected from them, it's important to make sure skin is balanced in all the right ways.

Don't get me wrong, exfoliating is an important part of skin cleansing and hygiene; it removes dead skin cells, dirt and oil that can cause breakouts. Using a gentle face scrub once every three to four days (depending on your skin type) isn't a harmful part of your skin care routine, especially if you use it in combination with a face lotion. Submitting your skin to harsh chemical peels and machines designed to buff away the top layers of your skin, however, is not the best idea. This could potentially cause irritation and prevent your skin from defending itself naturally against bacteria. Make sure you check out the ingredients in all your exfoliating products and take care of your skin, because it takes care of you.

Choosing Men Skin Care Products 101

If you're like most of us men, trying to figure out which skin care products are right for your skin can become a hellish task with so many options in stores today. How do you know what men's skin care products you should get? A lot of men are struggling with this and end up filling their cabinets with a bunch of fancy bottles that won't help take serious care of their skin. Here's a 101 guide to choosing the best men's skin care product for you.

Read the ingredients label

This is the key to choosing the right men skin care products. We normally think that our skin (men's skin) can take anything -- so any product will do. And if they're expensive, than they'll probably work. Let's think again.

Most men's skin care products in the market can actually damage your skin, as a lot of them are formulated with ingredients that irritate, clog and dehydrate your skin. This is very important because if use products that irritate our skin, the natural cell growth will be reduced, giving us an unhealthy complexion. Here is a checklist of these harmful skin ingredients:

- Alcohol: It contributes to dehydration, kills live cells, and alters the skin's delicate biological balance.

- Fatty acids and vegetable oils: Commonly used moisturizing oils clog pores, trap bacteria and prevent the natural shedding of dead cells. Only use oil-free or light moisturizers for all skin types.

- Fragrance and coloring: Fragrances and dyes tend to cause irritation and may produce allergic reactions when absorbed by the skin.

- Botanicals: Not all “natural” ingredients are beneficial. Some commonly used plant extracts, such as menthol, peppermint and citrus oils, are powerful substances that are better kept away from your skin.

What's your skin type?
Most products target several individual skin types: oily skin, dry skin, sensitive skin, acne-prone skin and combination skin. However, if you find men's skin care products free of added fragrances or dyes, alcohol, and that are hypoallergenic and nonacnegenic, then you won't really have to worry about your skin type.

Slowly build your skincare regimen
Think about what men skin care products you want to start with, and try them progressively. So, let's say you decide to start off with a gentle facial cleanser and an oil-free moisturizer; find the right ones for you and use them for a couple of weeks before you go and expose your face to full skincare routine. By starting with basic items, you'll always the best results. Once your skin has adapted to the professional skin care ingredients, it'll be ready for more targeted products.

As you build your skincare regimen, consider including a maximum protection sunscreen, as well as wrinkles and anti-aging products. Once again, try new products gradually and give them enough time -- about 2 weeks -- to see actual results.
If you follow these simple guidelines, you are guaranteed to find the right men skin care products for yourself.

Unemployment: The Hottest Trend in 2009

It's very sad. Unemployment. And it's the year's biggest trend -- In some areas rising to 15%. Minnesota, Massachusetts, Michigan, Florida... just pick a state and the unemployment rate reaches new records every month.

Fortunately, this is a market trend, and we know by now this movement is part of a cycle that will only last a period of time. How long? Different analysts and investors will give you different answers. Some will be bullish and others bearish -- In the end, the view will be directly related to how optimistic or pessimistic you are. We like to feel hopeful about things getting better in the near future and have good reasons for it. Having said that, it is during tough economic times like these that we need to work harder on reinforcing our skills, reconnecting with employment opportunities, and looking professionally.

It's All In The Look
You may have the most positive feeling about this bull market, but try to portray this during a job interview without combing your demeanor with your look, and you'll soon find yourself in a bear unemployment fair for a long period of time.

Work on looking and feeling your best every day. It's the etymology of a confident look -- simple grooming, nutrition and exercising can secure you a positive outlook in this hot market trend. Check out these recommendations to stimulate your confidence and look without having to go on an expensive spa retreat this summer:
  • Get some trim. Yes, visit your barber and get your hair trimmed neatly. Make sure you get the hairstyle that's right for you. It'll make huge impact in your image.

  • Remember about your nose and ear hair. Not sure? well, keep them short. They need to LIVE inside your nose and ears. Use tweezers, scissors, electric trimmers, or your grass shears if you need to, just get rid of those wild hairs.

  • Get a close shave. Shave every day -- it'll make you look clean. Sometimes this can dry your skin, but if you follow these shaving recommendations you're guaranteed to prevent razor burn, ingrown hairs and get the best shaving results.

  • Moisturize your skin. Keeping your skin hydrated on a daily basis will prevent your skin from looking dull and dry by restoring its suppleness and elasticity, which can also help diminish the appearance of fine lines.

  • Buff away dull buildup. Removing deep-down skin impurities to reveal a smoother, renewed complexion will provide impressive results in your appearance.

  • Keep your nails cured. No. You don't have to get a professional manicure before going to a job interview. But, you should make sure to clean and trim your nails nicely -- and if possible, grooming your cuticules regularly (there's no need to cut them).

  • Disambiguation. Try saying "I'm the best candiate for this position" to an employer with an I don't feel to confortable look and crossed arms. Your body language and postures will not be in harmony with what you're trying to communicate. Always make good eye contact, maintain a relaxed but straight posture when sitting and talking, and have a cordial face. Look good. Be professional. Act confidently. Leave your ego at home.

Blackheads Treatment - Follow These Steps to Remove Blackheads

Blackheads form when dead skin cells, bacteria and sebum, the oil matter secreted by the skin, clog the surface of the skin -- the bacteria tarnishes with oxygen and makes it look like black dots and sometimes tend to stick out a little.

Our first impulse is usually to pick at blackheads, however, this is the worst thing we can do as it spreads bacteria and irritates the skin. Instead, we recommend exfoliating the area with a Glycolic Acid - Alpha Hydroxy Acid (AHA) and Salicylic Acid (BHA) scrub to shed upper layers of the skin, and prevent pore-clogging. After this, use an acne lotion to help reduce acne bacteria levels, help diminish redness and prevent acne blackheads from forming.

Teenagers, "Never pick at blackheads!"
Although blackheads can crop up out of control between the ages of 15 and 25 due to acne vulgaris, the best way to counteract the eliminate them is by exfoliating the skin and using a prescription-grade acne lotion.

Choosing a Hair Styling Product for Men

Men want to style their hair naturally to get the specific look they want and feel better about themselves. Generally, this can be accomplished easily with styling products like hair pomades.

Since men prefer wearing short hair, they don't have to worry too much about damaged hair problems like frizz or split ends. By simply using strong-hold hair wax, they can achieve a wide variety of hair styles.

Choosing a male hair styling product is key to nurture the needs of men's hair; evenly distributing hold and structure or focus on a particular area to create definition and contrast, finish, scent, ingredients, etc. Products like MenScience Hair Styling Pomade enable men to configure their hair in motley fashions. It can be used to give a matte finish, or wet glossy look to the hair. It's ideal for men with thick hair, and for all hair lengths.

If you are choosing a hair styling product, look for Hair Styling Promade from MenScience, which is perfect for all kinds of hair, and to add shine to fine hair. This hair wax is nice for curly hair if want to keep your curls together. It's made with natural beeswax and other natural hair nurturing ingredients to support and repair your hair.

Tips:
  • If you have thick hard hair, avoid using gels and hair sprays.

  • If you want extra hold, apply hair pomade to dry hair. For natural soft hold, simply rub pomade between fingers to warm and soften, then run fingers through the hair to distribute evenly.

  • To allow your hair to breathe and support healthy-growth, use a Daily Shampoo to help revitalize its texture and to naturally exfoliate with hair nutrients.

Fish Food for Your Brain

Medical researches have continuously suggested that eating fish can highly benefit the brain and its process of thought. Recent publications claim that consuming fish at least once a week promotes healthier brain functions than eating it less frequently.

These studies specifically connect Omega-3 Fatty Acids found in oily fish to mental functions, thoughts, reasoning, perception, intelligence and learning. EPA and DHA Omega-3 fatty acids are good for the brain and vital for our minds all through our lives, and generally, we don't consume enough foods containing Omega-3 EPA/DHA, for which it is particularly recommended taking an Omega 3 Supplement, and eating foods rich in Omega 3 EPA/DHA.

Now, since it can be very difficult sometimes to eat fatty fish, as many people dislike its taste (both young children and adults), taking daily doses of a maximum-strength (1,500 mg) Omega-3 concentration with an optimal ratio of EPA, DHA and DPA is the best way to include this food for the brain into their daily diets.

Start taking Omega-3 Supplement Formula and you will notice the difference in your cognitive skills after a few weeks. Give your children Omega-3 EPA/DHA to help them improve their intelligence and concentration.

About Omega-3
Omega-3 fatty acids are a family of unsaturated fatty acids consisting of essential fatty acids: EPA (eicosapentaenoic acid) and DHA (docosahexaenoic acid) among others. It is naturally present in the body, and found in oily fish, flaxseed, eggs, meat, milk and cheesse. They help support the health of the brain in men, according to the FDA.

For past articles on Omega-3 Fatty Acids, we especially recommend:

Michael Jackson's '84 Pepsi Commercial Hair Accident

After watching this never-before-seen video from Us Weekly with Michael's hair on fire, I wondered how many of us have had similar accidents?

Seriously, I think most of us have fried our eyelashes and front hair while grilling. You know, we open-up the propane tank from our Lynx grill, but since it's been sitting out in the backyard throughout the winter months, the ignition system fails. So what do we do? Of coarse we try to nose out matches -- and by the time we finally throw one in there... kaboom! Our arm hairs curl like nylon rope-ends, and our burning crest adquires that foul sulphurish-whif.

Yes, it has happened. That's 'cause we can't see past that rib eye, and simply cannot focus right.

Bottom line -- if your hair happens to explode into flames, and you suffer 3rd degree burns to your scalp and face, run to the ER. But, if you feel safe enough to finish building that perfect fire to marble your tender meat, then try spraying some Post-Shave Repair on your face; its soothing ingredients will help calm any redness and burning sensation, while refresing and healing your skin.

Once you fiinish enjoying that perfect grilled steak (naturally after you allow the juices to return to the center of the meat as it sits for a few minutes), go ahead and jump in the shower -- wash your hair using Daily Shampoo to help repair your damaged hair. This will revitalizes and nurture it for vigorous hair growth.

Get Your Wow Skincare Product

A lot of men still think that skin care is predominantly a feminine thing and suddenly they try a face wash out of their girlfriend's cabinet: "Wow, this is actually better than my dove bar." Some guys who have tried advanced skincare products from others end up getting themselves vetoed from their bathrooms by their roommates, while other men eventually make the leap to start taking serious care of their skin and body.

Although there are reputable skin care lines for men that sell different grooming products, you have to keep in mind that there are many elements to consider for your skin before spending any cash in men's skincare products. So, here are some ways on how you can choose the right skin care product without spending any money.

For starters, you need to figure out your skin type; there are products for different skin types that depending on yours can give that Wow result. Some products like MenScience can be used for all skin types, benefiting everyone with the same results.

Figuring out what you'd like to fix, or if you simply want to start nurturing and protecting your skin is a key. This could help you put together the right skincare routine for your complexion.

Ingredients are another important factor to keep in mind when it comes to getting the most for your money. Finding products with gentle and soothing ingredients that can help your skin renew its complexion is vital when it comes to getting a wow skin care product.

Some skin care lines for men are in much demand because of their price-point; however, the ingredients used in some of these products generally will not help achieve any satisfactory results. If you choose this particular route, make sure to read the labels to find out how each component reacts on your skin.

MenScience offers FREE samples so you can experience advanced skincare with professional-grade ingredients for visible results without blowing any cash. Once you try them, you'll be able to WOW your skin.

We hope these "Wow Skincare Products" tips help! This is a great way for any man to try the best skin care products scientifically formulated for them.

4th of July 2009 for MenScience

As you might imagine, our offices will be closing at 5pm EST on Thursday, July 2, 2009 for Independence Day. The office will re-open for business on Tuesday, July 6, 2009. If you have any questions, please send them to us via email.

We'll be enjoying 4th Of July in Key Biscayne -- it's always special. There's the floats parade, live music, big flocks swamping the beaches, the usual street closures, and of coarse, the fire truck sprinkling water for kids. It's awesome!

With so much beach... it's perfect for celebrating and it becomes the party zone between the hours of the parade and the nightfall fireworks ritual -- it's just not Fourth Of July without fireworks, and the island community takes this very seriously.

It's always a very nice 4th Of July display. If you plan on being in the Miami area this weekend, this is definitely a fun place to visit. Just make sure to arrive early to find parking, and a good spot to enjoy the parade, which starts at 11am. Wear sunblock at all times--reapply every 4 hours, and once you hit the beach after the parade, reapply sunscreen every 1-2 hours. It'll be a long-sunny day.

The fireworks are scheduled to begin at 9pm, so if you leave the beach area to grab dinner, make sure you're back before it begins to get a nice location.

That's about it. Enjoy safely where ever you decide to celebrate this Independence Day. Also for some further info on sun protection, summer skin care, age spots, skin sunburn treatment:

Whoa--Michael Jackson Thrilled Us One Last Time

It's kinda hard not to blog about Michael Jackson right now - the news of his death has inspired many to blog a celebration to this pop-music icon.

Everyone now seems to have an anecdote about MJ--From Anderson Cooper's Studio 54 night with the king of pop, to Rosie O'Donnell reflecting upon his life through a poem, to Lisa Marie blogging 'bout his fear of dying like her dad Elvis: The Real King!

I suppose I'm not that lucky to have had the opportunity to share a moment with Michael, and I don't think I would have been able to make any positive marks in his life either. Most think they knew the man, few acknowledge how hard it was to help him. They're all speaking-up now... Where were they before the 25th? Some are asking...

It's still a shocker--although his life unmistakeably seemed like a tragedy, I don't think anyone thought his last Thriller would be so Off the Wall and this Bad. Our thoughts go out to Michael's family during these difficult moments... he was definitely "special" to them.

How Much Protection Does My Suncreen Provide?

We've had rain spoiling our weekends for the past 5 weeks now - and we finally got a short break this past Sunday in South Florida. I know, I know... we have great weather year-round, but I have a 5-year old who's been dying to try his new snorkeling gear and with this funky weather lately, he was getting a bit frustrated. Anyhow, we visited an interesting beach at Lauderdale by the Sea, where you can swim out a couple hundred yards and find incredibly good spots for snorkeling. We had good luck with the weather, and of coarse that means being under direct sunlight for long hours.

Every time we visit the beach, we're amazed at the number of people who don't use sun protection. I understand most people are not too concerned about DNA-damaging UVA rays, but it's just unbelievable to me how many do not use sunscreen at all. Of coarse, there are those who are aware of the importance of protecting their largest organ from UVA/UVB rays by using SPF sunblocks. One thing everyone should know is how much protection a sunscreen provides.

SPF 30 is all you need, according to skincare experts, but you must reapply sunscreen throughout the day.

The maximum time for full 30 SPF protection from a waterproof sunscreen, such as MenScience TiO2 Sunblock, is about 80 minutes in the water.

It's HIGHLY recommended that you reapply throughout the day to prevent getting burned. How do you know if you are still getting coverage from your sunscreen? To figure out the length of time your SPF protects you from UVB rays per application, simply follow this formula:

Multiply the SPF by 10. This number is the total minutes that you will be getting the perfect maximum protection from your sunscreen.

So, for example, a SPF 30 x 10 = 300 minutes of sun protection.

Perfect protection doesn't account for reality – sweating or getting wet reduces the amount of time that you are covered. Plus, sometimes sunscreen can rub off on lawn chairs, towels, and clothing. Reapply MenScience TiO2 Sunblock every 1-2 hours, no matter what the SPF to be cautious. Besides, this oil free sunscreen for men moisturizes and nurtures your skin, helping it recover form the damaging effects of the sun.

Two Steps To Get Fit This Summer...

Summer is here... and we've been reminded by the great folks at Sears that it is time to take out those grills from the garage and start grilling. Ahhh... grilling... I can't think of a better way to enjoy the summer season -- especially here in Florida -- where summer is part of the year round culture and it can a toll on our bodies. So, if you're like some of us here at MenScience, and you actually barbecue your way through winter, then you'll probably start the summer with some stuff that can spoil your wife's hot-eye for you.

Luckily, it's just a matter of enhancing your lifestyle with some fun/healthty exercise, and adjusting your summer diet to barbecuing foods that are better for your body.

Get Fit This Summer: Step 1

So, let's with exercising; in general, you know that staying active is vital to your fitness--body and skin. Take full advantage of the summer days and plan outdoors physical activities that can help you eliminate fat and pump calorie-burning up. Start by obtaining a Personal Health Fitness Profile. Then, go biking, running, swiming, tennis, volleyball, baseball, basketball, surfung... anything that can make you sweat and increase your body’s metabolic rate. Do this at least 2-3 times per week for about 45-60 minutes. And remember, since you're going to be out in the sun, protect your skin from harmful summer sunrays, while conditioning it with TiO2 Sunblock SOF 30; this is a non-greasy, waterproof and sweatproof formula that combines the powerful sun blocker, Titanium Dioxide, with the softening, moisturizing and repairing effects of Aloe, Chamomile, Green Tea, Vitamin E and antioxidants, TiO2 Sunblock SPF 30 goes on invisibly and is perfect for all men’s skin types.

Get Fit This Summer: Step 2

Now, in order to optimize your workouts, we recommend adding natural weight loss support supplement for men to help increase the effects of your exercise routines. Our 24 Fit System uses a proprietary combination of natural health supplements to support weight loss processes around the clock and is ideal to complement any exercise program. Of coarse, as with any weight loss program, you should try controlling your appetite and keeping your metabolism going by "eating several small meals" throughout the day. Avoid skipping meals, make sure you’ve got some healthy snack options available to you (this is a great way to get in your 5-9 servings a day of fruits and vegetables), drink LOTS of water, stay away from carbohydrates and other calorie-packed stuff like mayonnaise, butter and sour cream. Although most grilling foods are protein based, we do tend to unnecessarily enrich them with not-so-healthy condiments and spices.

So, get out there and be active! A little fun exercise for your body during summer will ensure that you can enjoy those juice burgers and Argentinian Chorizos on the grill.

This Oughtta Make You Jump Out of Your Chair: Saltimbanco

This doesn't really have much to do with men's skincare (or does it?) -- But, anyhow... I thought it'd be interesting to share.

A beautiful wife, rainy night, romantic dinner, and very intense acrobatics -- I'm talking about Cirque du Soleil's Saltimbanco. It's impressive and thrilling. From the moment the show begins, you are literally jumping out of your chair. It's like traveling through different town street shows: from amazing bungees, to unbelievable bicycle acrobatics, to Chinese poles, etc., this colorful urban show is like something out of a blood-curdling dream. And as any Cirque du Soleil show, it renders phenomenal music (including zany rows).

The show parades a myriad of dubious elastic and harlequin freaks that bring the whole dreamlike world together.

You should definitely go and see Saltimbanco.

Men Need To Learn Cream Isn't Enough

For a while now, we've been "trying" to take better care of our skin. Suddenly, we are fully living in the cosmeceutical cloud, depending on anti-aging creams, facial moisturizers, facial cleansers, etc., to improve our complexion, and reduce signs of aging. And we should realize that despite men wanting a cream to be the tryst to skincare, nutrition still has a place - with supplements being a case in point.

A lot of men start off using multi-vitamin supplements. But as they get in to it, they realize how much better their experience is when they use other health supplements like Advanced Antioxidants or Omega 3 Supplement Formula. Scientifically formulated and with pharmaceutical-grade, they offer many benefits for those who want to enhace their health and appearance.

That brings me back to cosmeceutical products. I love MenScience. They have the best men's skincare, grooming and acne treatments. But it's not enough, and it's frustrating when you don't get the results you're looking for. Men's skin care products help take care of the external appearance, removing external impurities, externally revitalizing the skin, hydrating and softening the skin externally.

So why not do the same internally, which will give truly visible (and invisible) results? The health benefits from incorporating a nutritional supplement into your diet can be the connection between wellness and good looks. If your internal health is good, then it will be reflected in your skin conditions.

Nutritional supplements play a part in this. Supplements combined with cosmoceutical products are the real key to being and looking healthy. Those who worry about well-being would be especially reassured by combining the two. Plus, I suspect making your body receive the best and most effective nutrients every single day can only be beneficial to your overall health.

With a few exceptions, MenScience provides nutritional supplements that increase the benefits of topical skincare. MenScience pushes its nutritional supplements because it fully believes that the combination of both is the way forward when it comes to health and well-being.

I hope men think beyond anti-aging creams, facial moisturizers or others. Using Advanced Antioxidants or any other supplements can give men an edge when it comes to feeling good, looking healthy and reducing the signs of aging.

Why you should take Omega 3 Fatty Acids

OMEGA-3 FATTY ACIDS are considered essential fatty acids. They are essential to human health but are not naturally present in the body and must be obtained from food such as certain types of fish and leafy vegetables or from nutritional supplements. If you are like most Americans, you are probably not getting enough omega-3 fatty acids.

Two of the most beneficial Omega 3 Fatty Acids that are easily absorbed and utilized by the body are Eicosapentaenoic Acid (EPA) and Docosahexaenoic Acid (DHA). Numerous clinical studies have suggested that EPA and DHA omega-3 fatty acids may be helpful in treating a variety of health conditions. The evidence is strongest for heart disease and problems that contribute to heart disease, but the list of possible benefits of taking omega-3 fatty acids is long.

Preventing Hair Loss

BY AGE 50, MORE THAN 50% of men experience significant hair loss. If you are worried about the number of hairs you’re finding near the drain, you are not alone. And even if you’re not losing your hair, as you age your hair often will become thinner and more delicate. Both men and women can have a genetic predisposition, (called androgenetic alopecia) to hair loss.

Non-genetic reasons also result in hair loss…stress, poor diet, and emotional issues can cause your hair to fall out. Whatever the reason for your loss, here are a few quick changes you can make to protect the hair you have and keep it healthy and strong.

Supporting Your Body to Promote Weight Loss

Many people still rely upon their diet programs to some degree for weight loss. It does not matter if you're country clubber, an achiever or the metro man, getting back into shape and ridding those regrettable pounds is always in the back of your mind.

A really simple way to increase calorie and fat burning throughout the day and during your workout routines is to incorporate a weight loss support supplement that can naturally help you lower body fat.

While it seems as a no-brainer, many guys neglect to do anything else other than cutting down on their pop beverages or fasting to drop a few pounds, and as a result get stuck with a bulge and can't figure out how to fight it.

Back when I worked for major telecom company, I recall trying to increase my water intake and skipping some of those company-paid business lunches, which only caused me to overeat at dinner time as my body tried to make up for the meal I had missed. Not only was this in vain, but the corporate lifestyle just didn't help at all -- constant traveling, jet lag, not enough sleep, etc., it all shoved into my weight, and there are a lot of people lumped in similar situations.

So, today's Weight Loss Tips is easy: go and buy 24 Fit System. A natural around-the-clock regimen to support weight loss processes, decrease in bodily fat and increases in lean muscle for a fit and lean appearance.

Try not to limit yourself to just diet and exercise -- you can combine them with a scientifically developed product that can reinforce and enhance your body to lose weight.

Imagine, if your body is not getting enough conditioning and/or the wrong grubs, just by taking a natural weight loss support supplement you could increase its metabolic rate and its ability to lose weight.

Common Acne Treatment Mistakes

Most people suffering from acne commonly make simple mistakes when treating their acne. So, hopefully we can help some of you avoid making these mistakes.

Perhaps the biggest mistake everyone makes is trying too many acne products at once; most of the time they are natural or home made products -- which usually makes you think it's safe, but it is definitely not the case. Although your skin is able to endure a lot things, it is more delicate than you might think. This is why you must be very selective using acne treatments.

Acne can be caused by internal and external factors, so identifying the root of your acne problems is key to select the best acne treatment, which should always include gentle acne skin care products with dermatological-grade ingredients to treat the causes of acne. In some cases it can be stress related, or triggered by hormone disorders, etc.

If you always keep this in mind, you can get rid of acne permanently.

There are no miracle quick-fix home made acne solutions. If you are looking for overnight acne treatments, then you need to make sure these contain professional acne medicines.

Typically acne sufferers make the mistake of trying different supplements, vitamins and minerals, combined with moisturizers, spot treatments, exfoliants, face cleansers, and many other things.

Another common slip is that they normally don't give acne treatments enough time to really work on the skin. Treating acne can be a long process sometimes -- changing your acne products after using them for only a week is a big mistake. This will only disturb your skin and produce more breakouts. Just try to be patient and give your skin enough time to get used to your acne treatment.

The best acne advice we can give you is to try not to use too many acne products at once. Simply start with a gently face cleanser and oil-free moisturizer, and treat your breakouts with an acne lotion. You don't really need more than that.

Picking and squeezing. This can be hard to avoid sometimes, however, popping zits only aggravates the problem and it will take longer for your pimples to heal. Besides, you'll be guaranteeing black spots from acne.

Keep it simple and try a professional Acne Treatment System.

Yoko Ono: Yes, She's 76 Today

Was she the reason for The Beatles' breakup? I guess that's for you to decide -- What I do know is that as an artist she has supported other artists and musicians including Lennon, of coarse.

Interesting Fact

She's also made some 'music' herself. It's bit ticklish to digest or understand for some, but she continues draw new angles and take different approaches as we can appreciate in her new CD, Yes, I'm A Witch. The tracks are not new, but she had the judgmental reach to allow other artists to make her recordings their own.

And that's what I like about this arguably controversial woman. She keeps her work in constant development.

How can we help men's skin care "evolve?"

Curing Black Spots from Acne

Last year Men's Health Magazine published an acne piece that focused on men suffering from dark spots on their face as a consequence of acne and endorsed our Pigmentation Repair Formula as the best product to get rid of dark spots from acne and to fade acne scars.

With the number of people suffering from acne today, it's not surprising to hear that so many end-up with dark acne scars. We receive a lot emails and phone calls from customers looking for an effective acne treatment that can help them clear their skin and eliminate those dark spots left by acne blemishes. A good number of these customers are black -- acne scars tend to be particularly unexceptional in African-American skin. This occurs when pores become clogged with sebum (the oily substance on the skin) and bacteria (known as P. acnes). When the clog occurs below the skin surface, this creates a “whitehead,” which in turn generates uneven skin tones (called "hyperpigmentation"). Usually these can fade over time, but depending on the severity of the acne, it is recommended that they are treated with ingredients that can help even skin color and promote a smoother surface.

Generally, acne dark spots create emotional stress and upsets the acne sufferer to the point of leading some to skin bleaching attempts to get rid of dark spots.

Acne sufferers with dark spots (acne scars) should use pigmentation creams with Retinol, Kojic Acid and Vitamin C to fade dark areas and balance skin tone. While treating dark spots, acne sufferers must protect their skin from the sun. This is specially true for people with light skin color as their skin contains less melanin (skin pigment) having less protection against the sun's rays. This means that you should use an oil-free sunblock with SPF 30 at all times.

It is also recommended that people suffering from dark spots due to acne, routinely use gentle exfoliating skin cleansers to buff away dead skin cells and dull buildup, revealing new cells for an even tone. Face scrubs with Glycolic acid are ideal for this, because it sheds upper layers of skin, leading to smoother, softer skin, and reducing the appearance of dark spots.

One thing that you should always keep in mind is that what caused the dark spots was the acne -- you must treat the acne with acne medicine to prevent breakouts and more dark spots.

We highly recommend Acne Treatment System to eliminate acne permanently. A 3-step acne treatment clinically developed with dermatological-grade acne medication.

Dark Circles Creams: Will They Cure My Unwanted Lotor Eyes

One of our customer's favorite products is the Eye Rescue Formula -- the reviews on this dark circles cream are fantastic. Having said that, I'd like to address a few frequently asked questions from customers anticipating overnight results once they start using the dark circles formula.

Q: With some many eye creams out there, why do you recommend yours to cure dark circles under eyes?
A:
Although different eye creams suit different people, Eye Rescue Formula is specifically formulated to soothe the skin around the eyes when due to the degradation of elastin and loss of collagen in the body your eyes become lined and wrinkled. The combination of dermatological-grade ingredients in this eye cream protect and repair the skin around your eyes to help reduce the appearance of signs of eye aging such as dark circles, puffiness, under eye bags and crows feet.

Q:
What can I do if I have suffered from dark circles since my teenage years?
A: Apply Eye Rescue Formula to your dark circles. Also read this dark circles article.

Q:
Does applying raw potato or cucumber slices help to get rid of dark circles as an alternate remedy?
A: Potatoes contain an enzyme that lightens pigmentation and reduces dark areas. As for cucumber, it has faint fading attributes. However, these are just makeshift treatments. Using a professional dark circles cream will give you lasting results thanks to it's dermatological-grade ingredients; they truly help brighten and normalize pigmentation of the skin, and promote skin firmness and elasticity, improving the appearance of dark circles and puffiness.

Q:
How fast should I expect my dark circles to go away?
A: Dark circles can be caused by many things, but they are very likely to be hereditary or of ethnic descent. Nevertheless, additional external factors can also cause dark under eye circles. In many cases, smoking, alcohol, caffeine, allergies, and physical elements (thryroid problems, iron deficiencies) lead to dark circles. So, there isn't an exact curing time-frame to get rid of dark circles. You may start getting visible results after 2-3 weeks of treatment, however, if you suffer from any of these conditions, then you shouldn't expect to get rid of dark circles so swiftly.

Q: Do hard nights out and skimping on sleep cause dark circles?
A: Yes. As often as not experiencing lack of sleep or interrupted sleep leads to developing dark circles, and in general it may have negative effects on your complexion. Get some sleep. Your whole system, including your skin, needs at least 8 hours a night to recharge and repair itself.

Q: Do I need to keep my skin hydrated to help get rid of dark circles?
A: Indeed. I cannot stress this enough. Your body needs water to flush away toxins and restore its appearance. Keep in mind that your skin loses a lot of moisture due to atmosphere factors and it’s important to keep it hydrated from the inside out. We also recommend that use a dark circles eye cream because it is a great way to keep the skin around the eyes moisturized -- it helps lock in your body's own water to prevent loss through the skin.

With a little help from Eye Rescue Formula and this dark circles treatment you should be able to cure your unwanted lotor eyes.

Secret Acne Weapon: Relax and Heal Your Acne Stressed Skin

Acne treatment has become a huge industry; medication and surgical procedures (both aimed at curing acne) as a measure to clear and eliminate acne. Nonetheless, a simple and effective practice is right in front of us (or under us I should say).

In today's fast-paced, frustrating, demanding, and difficult world, stress can take a toll and it's been medically proven to be directly connected to acne breakouts. Whether is your work, college, kids, social life, or perhaps medical conditions, these can all easily lead to stress and end-up causing acne. Not to mention other skincare conditions. The secret weapon to defend your skin against stress-related acne breakouts is relaxation.

You should always use an acne treatment -- but you should also practice relaxation to help clear your acne stressed skin.

The relation is still not too clear. What we do know is that stress provokes tension and anxiety, which can both trigger the production of sebum (the oily substance that lubricates skin), and as we already know, increased sebum production means oily skin -- and oily skin means clogged pores and acne breakouts. Also keep in mind that stress delays the healing process of skin. And of coarse, we should always avoid falling into the vicious cycle of feeling mentally stressed-out about having acne breakouts.

How can you relax about acne?

It's very straightforward. You can start by getting a good night sleep. When you sleep well, the body recharges, and it keeps stress levels down, reducing its production of sebum. Also, practice breathing exercises to help calm you down.

Another great way to relax your body is by clearing your mind. Try playing some Tibetan music to prod your chakra. Get into a meditation mode and clear your mindset.

So, if you're stressing about which is the best acne treatment for your skin? Perhaps you should just relax about it. MenScience Acne Treatment System is guaranteed to eliminate acne in 3 simple steps. It's a clinically developed acne treatment with dermatological-grade acne medication for visible results.

Isn't this relaxing?

Is There a Science Behind Beauty and Youth?

People have been using anti-aging products for decades -- women mostly. However, men are now digging deep and finding scientifically developed formulas to prevent skin aging.

MenScience has the answer (a scientific one) to anti-aging skin care treatment: Peptides. GABA. Retinol.

What exactly are these empirical components? In simple terms, these are the most advanced anti-aging elements used by dermatologists to reduces the appearance of wrinkles and fine lines and promote firmer skin. Scientifically speaking, these 3 ingredients are like supernatural youth-winners.

Pepetides
(aka
Polypeptides) are complex molecules derived from combining chains of amino acids (the body's building blocks.) When these are linked together they help smooth wrinkles and fill in fine lines on the skin.

GABA (Gamma-Aminobutyric-Acid) is a natural amino acid found in the nervous system. It's known to relax muscles and bodily tissues by inhibiting and controlling nerve impulses, which makes it a big winner when it comes to reducing the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The most popular or commonly-known of these is Botox. GABA acts similarly without being invasive and it's completely safe for all types of skin.

Retinol is an antioxidant derived from Vitamin A. Because it is fat-soluble, it is able to absorb into fatty layers of skin to promote greater cell renewal and increases in collagen and elastin production.

MenScience has made a giant leap in putting these together in an anti-aging formula and combining its benefits with an antioxidant formula to help protect your body from free radicals which can accelerate the signs of aging. It is the best anti-aging system with dermatological-grade anti-aging skin care ingredients.

So, if you've ever wondered if There is a Science Behind Beauty and Youth? Perhaps this can give a good clue of what science can do to help develop treatments to fight the aging process.

WHAT A WEEKEND -- Nadal is Finally at Rest & Roethlisberger Plays Backyard Football

So let's start with Nadal, by now it should not come as something of a surprise to see him beat Federer or fight so hard during each and every point. What I personally wonder is how he does it? I mean here's a guy who had just played a 5 hour and 14 mins. match barking his "Vamos" and 2 days later he comes back and does it again to one the most competitive tennis players of this decade, taking not just a title from him, but an opportunity to make hisrtory.

Where does his energy and tennis-fury come from? What kind of antioxidants is uncle Tony giving him? What is he taking to maintain his energy levels so boosted? And yes, he has said that he likes more fighting to win than wining -- whatever it may be, it is clearly giving us a fun sports rivalry to follow. No discussion.

Anyhow, congratulations to Nadal and I hope he can conserve energy for future Fernando and Roger matches.

Now, let's talk about this year's Super Bowl. What a victory! The Pittsburg Steelers made history by becoming the only NFL team to win 6 Super Bowls, yet Warner was able to hold his head high in defeat. It even made Roethlisberger feel almost guilty about throwing that winning touchdown pass.

What was so great about last night's game is that, despite the Cardinals getting their upset spoiled in the final two minutes, Warner was still greatful that he was able to be a part one the greatest games and he has been fortunate to be part of three great Super Bowl games. So, Cardinal fans should definitely proud of that.

I guess now there are a couple of things we have to wonder about: is Warner's record going to make him a Hall of Famer and will he be back in the NFL next year.

Tell us what you think by posting some comments here.

Five Things You Should Know About Acne

Recently customers have been calling and sending lots questions about acne via email, so I thought it'd be a good idea to weigh in, even though we have an excellent article about Acne Facts versus Fiction, as well as other acne treatment articles.

1. A lot of you have asked if popping acne pimples/zits helps make them go away faster; this is clearly a myth. While it does "sometimes" reduce their size, popping pimples will spread acne bacteria making the blemish worse and causing it to take longer to heal. Popping or picking at pimples can also cause scars and dark spots to form. It is best to use a potent acne spot cream directly on the acne blemishes to diminish them and reduce the inflammation associated with acne.

2. Another common question from some acne sufferers is how many times a day should you wash your your face? When suffering from acne, it is very important to keep the facial skin clean, however, you should only wash your face a couple times a day with an acne face wash that contains Salicylic Acid and Tea Tree extract. To maintain your face clean and clear from dirt, oils and acne-causing bacteria throughout the day you should remove oily residues and buildup with acne pads or a face tonic. These are gentle on the skin an help heal and repair acne-stressed skin.

3. Foods and diet seem to be another big concern from people suffering from acne. There is no real hard-evidence to claim that greasy or oily foods are directly linked to causing acne. However, you should try to eat a balanced diet full of vitamins from fruits and vegetables, and drink a lot of water for overall well-being. After all, this will help you keep your skin naturally moisturized from the inside out.

4. The biggest question seem to be which is the most effective ingredient for acne treatment? So far, the best antibacterial ingredient prescribe by dermatologists for topical acne treatment is Benzoyl Peroxide. It's been proven to clearly help rid acne, while absorbing excess oils and clearing pores. The best acne treatments combine Benzoyl Peroxide with other acne-soothing ingredients such as Green Tea, Urea and Allantoin to help clear acne-irritated skin.

5.
Our last acne issue has to do with people getting a bit too anxious about seeing fast results from their acne products. Dealing with acne can be very frustrating -- a lot times the skin will take a turn for the worse before it begins getting better. With any acne treatment, especially dermatological-grade acne products, it may take some time for the skin to get used to the powerful antibacterial and exfoliating ingredients. Once skin has become accustomed to the acne treatment, irritation, redness or dryness usually disappear. The most important thing is to KEEP usage regular. Your best bet is to apply a small amount only once a day, and then increase frequency gradually over 5 – 6 days. If too much dryness occurs, decrease frequency and gradually increase again. Now, if for some reason your skin remains irritated for a long period of time, stop acne treatment and consult a doctor.

Some Cool Acne and Anti-Aging Media References

Keeping up with media placements has become an enormous task. At one point, we even stopped updating our media room page; the number of references is just very large and was making the page too heavy.

Thanks to the media, we have never had to explain much about what we're about... which in a way tells us we're doing it right. J'adore magazine recently dedicated a few lines to talk about two of our best products – Acne Spot Repair and Anti-Aging Formula.

Here's what they had to say about our potent acne cream and anti-aging treatment:

1. MenScience Acne Spot Repair target's existing acne and reduces inflammation and redness. It's fast absorbing & has an invisible application.

2. MenScience Anti-Aging Formula is a dermatological-grade anti-aging treatment that contains ingredients used by doctors to not only prevent but greatly reduce the signs of aging.

I think it's very cool that our community continues to hear about our products from trusted media sources (even when we don't mention all of them).

My personal recommendation is that when you want to learn, for example, about the best acne treatment for your skin, the web is the place to do it. If you already use a skin care line like MenScience, search their site and find out what they offer, and what they have on their blog. If they do have any acne products, read what others are saying about them in the product reviews section. By the time you've finished searching, you will have enough information to make a smart decision about the perfect acne treatment system for your face.
