You Have the Chiseled Abs of a Greek God... Wishful thinking? MenScience offers some helpful tips to help get you - if not perfectly contoured - summer six-pack ready. Get Motivated. It's the first and most important component to the Greek God body you so eagerly covet. There's a difference between desiring an end result, and having the constancy and determination to get there. It's important to learn to enjoy exercising, finding pleasure in both the immediate and long-term benefits. Some experts have suggested considering a healthy lifestyle and workout regimen as a job, one that you won't get paid for unless you follow through. Drink Liquids. Besides curbing your appetite, this will flush fats out of your system. Water is great, but drinking green tea is especially useful. A powerful antioxidant, green tea is known to boost the metabolism to help burn calories. Eat Breakfast. A study at the University of Massachusetts found that men skipping morning meals are 4.5 times as likely to be heavy than those that don't. Within an hour of waking, eat a high fiber or high protein meal, capping your caloric intake at 500. Complement your morning efforts by taking MenScience's Thermogenic Formula as it increases metabolic rate and calorie-burning to support weight-loss. Boost your Metabolism. Get fit by eating small meals every three hours - it will keep your metabolism going and help with weight loss. High fiber snacks like nuts are a great way to keep your metabolism running when you're on the go. Take the Advanced CLA Supplement Formula in the afternoon to bolster muscle growth and decrease bodily fat for net increases in lean muscle mass. Workout. Goes without saying, but do those sit-ups, crunches, jackknifes, leg lifts and tummy trimming workouts 3-5 times per week. Lift Weights. The more muscle your body has, the more calories you can burn, even during rest. Cardio is great, but without lifting weights too, you're just losing muscle mass – which makes the fat take longer to disappear. For the greatest results in building a better body, do cardio in combination with muscle building activity. Earth Day is Tuesday the 22nd - and we're talking about it because it means the world to us. It's the weekend before the national observance, so in almost every major US city - there is some kind of fun, outdoors Earth Day celebration going on this weekend. Nationwide, thousands of US citizens are volunteering to plant trees and create community gardens, cleanup parks and beaches, restore trails and wildlife habitats and in general - restore, protect and conserve our natural resources. But if you're celebrating Earth Day in the sun, make sure you also protect your own natural resources - your skin. As you're out of doors this weekend - with a park cleanup and barbecue or trash pickup and beach bash - make sure to wear good FDA-level sunscreen. To protect against sun damage - marked by lines, wrinkles and sun spots - wear a sunblock that contains an SPF of 30 and shields skin from both UVA and UVB rays. Sunblocks fortified with full-spectrum sunscreen ingredients (such as titanium dioxide) repel ultraviolet rays and deflect heat without irritating skin. Don't forget your lips by remembering to use a nourishing lip balm with an SPF of 15 or higher. Also, if you intend to spend lots of time outdoors, drink lots of water so as not to become dehydrated. From my previous experiences, insect repellant is also a pretty darn good idea. MenScience has tried to make a smaller impression for a bigger impact, too. By minimizing our impression on the environment - our professional-grade, cruelty-free product line does more than improve your health and skin - it also hugely impacts your future. For more on how MenScience contributes to the environment each day and how you can, too, visit www.menscience.com/earth.

What Everyone Should Know About Acne Skin Care
In the never ending battle to come up with effective acne treatments, many acne skin care brands develop pretty interesting acne products. Some acne skin care brands give special importance to cleansing your skin and produce useful cleansers and tonics to help keep the skin free from impurities and debris. Some acne treatments specialize in clearing grime from deep within the pores, again creating cleansers that help leave your face super clean. For the past few years, us here at MenScience have been listening to our customers more frequent interests, specifically requesting acne treatments and medications. We recognize the gradual development of acne treatments from other brands to help people suffering from different forms of acne, however, it has to be confessed to be true that the results and ingredients used are scary. Not too long ago, I spoke to a relative who was happy with her "acne solution", but when I looked at her skin closely? I was greatly astonished. The answer for acne that she had found cleared her skin breakouts, but had completely dried her skin. She had countless marks and spots all over the areas where she had applied the acne products, and I felt like I should write a post. Acne treatments and acne medicine are acne solution are the most common terms used by companies that offer acne products. However, are most acne brands actually "aware" about a real acne treatment system is, and does it help target the causes of acne and keep acne blemishes under control while smoothing and conditioning the skin? So, I thought about giving you my point of view. The question we should ask ourselves is very basic, "What should everyone know about acne treatments and acne skin care?" I hope you can benefit from this. Acne TreatmentsThe term acne treatment services for anyone that uses a combination of products in a defined protocol to combat the causes of acne and remedy its consequences. For example, it's very important for me to use an acne product that can prevent and control breakouts, but it's also necessary to use one that rapidly eliminates acne breakouts and helps repair blemished skin. Acne skin care brands must make great efforts to develop acne products that are prescription-grade, effective, and simple. We strive to find that balance in all of our products here at MenScience.
When suffering from acne, breakouts are one of the biggest struggles. Can your solution for acne clear breakouts? And can it diminish redness and inflammation associated with acne, while healing and repairing acne-stressed skin? These are questions everyone should be asking themselves when looking for an acne treatment system.
In my opinion, nothing can compare to a prescription-grade acne products. The concentration of the ingredients contained in a prescription-grade acne product, is what can guarantee visible results.
My personal advice is to combine acne treatments with skin care products that are developed with professional active ingredients that work in harmony when you mix them. By doing this, you will get maximum efficacy from you acne treatment system. The hot, humid months of summer have just begun - aka 'acne season.' While you're making your summer va-kay plans, don't let anything 'pop up' to ruin your trip. Here are some great skin care habits that will treat acne prone skin to prevent an acne breakout. Keep skin clean by washing each day with a gentle liquid cleanser, preferably one containing pore clearing Salicylic Acid. Constant washing depletes skin’s moisture level increases oil production and irritates acne. For acne-prone skin, follow the use of your daily face wash with an application of Advanced Face Tonic, a toner that removes organic buildup and dissolves dead skin cells and pore-clogging, oily residues. Acne treatment products that contain Benzoyl Peroxide reduce acne-causing bacteria; so, after the acne breakout has been controlled, get rid of acne by daily applying a medicated acne lotion. Cover your skin with an ultralight, oil free sunscreen whenever you go outside. Sun exposure can provoke greater pore-clogging oil production, and redden or darken existing acne marks and lines, causing acne scarring. Never pop or pick at blackheads, whiteheads and pimples. You might think you're clearing pores, but you're actually spreading bacteria and irritating the skin, worsening the acne. Our new acne treatment regimen applies these simple guidelines to help you and prevent and control your acne outbreaks – year round.

IF YOU'RE A GOLFER, you know The Masters Championship tees off this week, on April 10th. Whether you're an avid golfer or just love to drive the golf buggies, you'll appreciate MenScience's hole-in-one skin and health tips. For increased flexibility and an improved golf swing, stretch before hitting the course. Some natural nutritional supplements can help strengthen cartilage and joints for improved flexibility, bone strength, and pain relief. Omega 3 fatty acids, among other nutrients, are linked to joint mobility. Eat a hearty meal, complete with complex carbs and protein. You'll need energy for a good drive and endurance on the course; packing fruit and energy bars will keep your energy level high the whole day. Drink lots of water to prevent against dehydration. Muscles need water, so if you're not getting enough, you'll overheat, your muscles will be dehydrated and you'll tire easily. Again, take some with you to sip on between shots. Use a good sunblock, like the TiO2 Sunblock SPF 30, and reapply throughout the day. Besides shielding skin from cancerous sun exposure, it can help prevent such visible signs of aging as wrinkles, sagging skin and loss of tonicity. Don't forget your lips: continual application of a beeswax-enriched SPF lip balm will nourish, hydrate and protect lips from harmful ultraviolet rays. If your past golf sun exposure is starting to show with sun spots or age spots, use the Pigmentation Repair Formula to control abnormal pigment production and eliminate darkened caused by cumulative sun damage.

No, that wasn't a sexist comment, it's true. How else is men's skin different? MenScience answers.
Men Have Thicker Skin. Literally - a man's skin is thicker and firmer than a woman's. Having higher levels of testosterone hormones in their blood, men's dermis and epidermis skin layers are thicker and have more elastin and collagen (gives skin firmness and elasticity) than women. This means that a man's resistance to aging skin (lines, wrinkles, skin laxity, etc.) is higher than a woman’s. Men Have Oilier Skin. With thicker skin, men also have more active oil-producing sebaceous glands (sebum) that continue producing oil late into life (women decrease oil production about 20 years sooner than men). These natural oils waterproof and protect skin to keep it soft, smooth and supple. Men Have Coarser, Thicker Hair. Unlike women, men have coarse, thick hair on their faces, requiring constant facial shaving and upping their risk of irritation and ingrown hairs. Men Have Bigger Pores. Pumping out natural oils and sprouting hair, men's pores are larger than a women's, which increases the risk of having clogged pores and acne blemish outbreaks. Men Have Different Lifestyles. Men tend to spend more time outside, so they more frequently expose their skin to sun damage and environmental pollutants.
