October Poll: The Eyes Have It

Here at MenScience, we are constantly striving to understand what works and doesn't work when it comes to men's skin care and grooming. It is with this in mind that we maintain a monthly poll asking visitors to our website what their opinion is on a wide range of skincare, style and grooming topics.

This month's poll focused on what men think about eye treatments to reduce dark under-eye circles, sagging skin and wrinkles in the area. Here are just a few of the interesting results we collected:

- Men tended to fall on either side of the spectrum when it came to using an eye product: 34% used one on a daily basis and 39% have never used one at all.

- Of those that used a product, more than 50% started early, beginning in their twenties.

- Main concerns have been with diminishing dark circles and puffy eyes, not with reducing wrinkles.

- Surprisingly, most users believe that lack of sleep, rather than aging, is the main cause of these problems.

We're always looking for new opinions, so visit http://www.menscience.com/mayCst.htm to give your's. Be one of the first 200 visitors and be automatically entered to win a prize.

The Name is Smith...Bill Smith

Always wanted James Bond's style, but didn't feel like overthrowing an evil mastermind to get it? Well, now you can. Turnbull & Asser, a UK-based clothier that began in 1885, is now offering the James Bond, Casino Royale, Limited Collection Evening Shirt and Bow Tie. From the website:

The "Limited Collection" shirt is made from a super fine, two fold, white-on-white cotton. Using a classic silhouette, the shirt has been designed with a unique collar, specifically designed by Turnbull & Asser, which is featured in the film. Further subtle details can be found including the mitred double cuffs and concealed front placket which, stylishly, hide the mother of pearl buttons underneath. The bow tie is made from raw Shantung silk, giving extra texture and a wonderful handle and tactility when touching the bow tie. The shirt and bow tie will add an air of sophistication to any gentleman's wardrobe: it is a "must have" item; a piece of cinema history. Just like James Bond.

No price is given, so the skies may be the limit. But then again, how can you put a price on dressing like an international super-spy... at least for one night?

Don't check your MenScience at airports

There were few things I liked less than having to check my bags at airports to comply with the TSA ban on liquids/gels aboard airplanes. I disliked this so much, that last time I traveled, I had to leave behind all my MenScience products and take baking soda instead of toothpaste.

You can imagine I was very happy with the new guidelines released by the Transportation Security Adminstration on airport security(http://www.tsa.gov/assets/pdf/bag_poster.pdf) , which allow travellers to carry some liquids/gel on board as long as they are under 3 ounces each and fit in a one-quart zip-top bags.

I was also extremely happy because the TSA announcement coincided with the launching of the latest MenScience product, the Travel Kit, which happens to be not just a great product, but also 100% compliant with the new TSA regulations (all products are under 3 ounces and all liquid products fit confortably in one one-quart zip-top bag). The Travel Kit even comes with a zip-top
bag so you can go directly to security screening!

So, next time I travel, I won't have to leave my shaving and skincare supplies behind. If you are interested, you can see this product at http://www.menscience.com/Travel-Kit-P26C0.aspx
