How To: Avoid and Treat Common Skin Problems

How-to Treat Common Skin Problems
Purpose: Manage and diminish skin conditions such as dry and oily skin and facial and back acne.

Tools: Daily Face Wash, Daily Body Wash, Advanced Face Lotion, Post-Shave Repair, TiO2 Sunblock SPF 30, Microfine Face Scrub, Body Buff Gloves, Benzoyl Peroxide Treatment, Water

Dry Flaky Skin:
Shower (or wash face) with lukewarm water, not hot.

Use Daily Face Wash or Daily Body Wash to cleanse face and body. Gentle, liquid cleansers will not dry your skin out as many bar soaps do.

Within 5 minutes of stepping out of shower or washing face, apply Advanced Face Lotion to your skin. This will lock moisture in better.

Apply Advanced Face Lotion again at bedtime after splashing face with lukewarm water.

Consider investing in a humidifier to cut down on dryness while you sleep.
Oily Skin:
Cleanse face and body with Daily Face Wash and Daily Body Wash. Do not overscrub as this can cause further oil production.

Mist Post-Shave Repair onto face or apply with cotton pads. The light moisturizing qualities will keep skin hydrated without weighing it down.

Apply TiO2 Sunblock if going outside. Direct sunlight can trigger oil production and promote shinier appearance.

Repeat cleansing routine before bedtime.

Facial Acne:
Cleanse face with Daily Face Wash and lukewarm water. Do not overscrub and do not pick at blemishes.

Apply a thin layer of Advanced Face Lotion to face and neck. If you are wary of using a moisturizer, mist Post-Shave Repair onto skin instead.

Once or twice a week, apply a thin layer of Microfine Face Scrub to skin after cleansing. Allow Scrub to sit for two minutes, then gently wash away completely.

Apply TiO2 Sunblock if going outside, as strong, direct sun exposure can darken blemishes and marks.

Wash face again before bedtime using Daily Face Wash and lukewarm water. Pat dry.
Back Acne ("Bacne"):
Once a day (and after exercising or sweating heavily), shower with lukewarm water.

Use Daily Body Wash with Body Buff Gloves to exfoliate and clean skin.

After drying off, apply a Benzoyl Peroxide product to acne spots only. Wait completely to absorb before putting on clothes.

Apply a thin layer of TiO2 Sunblock to back and chest if planning on being in direct sunlight.

Tips:

Looking good on the outside means treating yourself well on the inside, so make sure to follow a healthy, balanced diet. Reducing the amount of oils and fats you eat can help prevent oily skin, and improve skin’s appearance over all.
