Britney Might Have the Right Idea

While some pop divas seem to be taking the shaved head trend a bit too far, there's no arguing the fact that a shaved head is a great look with a lot of benefits.

Shaved heads work well for a wide variety of guys, from those concerned with receding hairlines to those that just want to achieve a look that's easy to accomplish and easy to maintain. And with warmer weather finally arriving, there's no better time to try out this polished look.

However, simply shaving off the hair isn't the only thing you need to do to keep your head looking good. The skin of your scalp is very thin, and by removing the hair you're exposing it to outside elements it may not have ever encountered before, including sun exposure and dry air.

The solution is to keep your pate hydrated by applying a lightweight, oil-free moisturizer that absorbs immediately into the skin. After all, the skin of your scalp deserves just as much attention as the skin of your face, and both need to be nourished and hydrated after shaving to avoid irritations.

While you're at it, applying a sunblock with an SPF of 30 and broad-spectrum protection can save you the embarrassment of a burnt, flaky scalp. We recommend the MenScience Advanced Face Lotion and the TiO2 Sunblock SPF 30.

The shaved head is a beautiful thing. And don't worry: no one's going to be asking you for an autograph or demanding another chorus of "Oops, I Did It Again."
