An Eye-Opening Look at Men's Nutritional Concerns
Most men believe that good nutrition is a major contributer to good health. But where should this nutrition come from? A well-balanced diet? Daily supplements? We wanted to get the lowdown on men's nutritional concerns and how (and why) they take supplements, so our most recent online survey focused on just these issues. We received some pretty eye-opening results:72% take a supplement daily, and 9% take four or more kinds a day.
Enthusiastic supporters and nutritional skeptics appear to be evenly divided: Approximately 30% have taken a supplement for more than five years and 30% do not take a supplement at all.
Receiving nutrients lacking from their diets is the number one reason for taking a supplement. Improving health conditions (such as heart disease) and protecting against future illness follow close behind.
Less than 1% takes a supplement for mental well-being.
35% believe childhood is the best time to begin taking a supplement.
But what do you think about all this attention being focused on nutrition? Do you think more importance should be placed on it? Or is it just another fitness fad?
