For the Cause...and the Party
With the current less-than-sunny outlook that's cropping up in political, economic, heck, even social realms lately, it's always great to find people who are working to better the world, not just themselves. So when we at MenScience see an opportunity to support a worthy cause, we jump on it. And if supporting that cause somehow involves a party.....well, so much the better.
Which is why we're extremely excited to be a part of the 2nd Annual Young Professionals Party to Benefit the S.L.E. Lupus Foundation. According to the foundation's website: "Systemic lupus erythematosus (S.L.E.), commonly called lupus, is a chronic autoimmune disorder that can affect virtually any organ of the body. In lupus, the body's immune system, which normally functions to protect against foreign invaders, becomes hyperactive, forming antibodies that attack normal tissues and organs, including the skin, joints, kidneys, brain, heart, lungs, and blood. Lupus is characterized by periods of illness, called flares, and periods of wellness, or remission." The foundation has made it its goal to raise awareness, provide support and work towards a cure.
MenScience is providing products for the gift bag at the event to be held September 28 at one of the newest clubs in NYC, Stereo. For more information about donations and invites, visit http://www.lupusny.org/show.php?young_professionals.
We're also participating in two other upcoming events: the launch of a new men's e-zine at the tony Soho 323 restaurant and club in Manhattan on September 21, and the Anniversary Party for Urban Male Magazine in Toronto on September 8. Both parties are sure to be awesome times, and we couldn't be happier to be a part of them.
