Donít vegetate on weekends; choose active things to do with your family and friends.
Whenever possible, walk to stores, the post office and other places around town.
Joining a gym is a great way to get in shape, but if you donít make a regular effort to go, itís just a waste of money. If a gym doesnít work for you, try activities on the weekends or before work. Or invest in some weights, a stationery bike or treadmill to exercise at home while you watch television or take care of household jobs.
